You are wanting to start a home-based business. You feel the internet will be the right tool for your at home work idea. But somehow, you seem unsure you will be able to make any money online. Add to that the confusion you feel about exactly what work-from-home opportunity to choose.

If this sounds familiar, relax. Be assured that money can indeed be made online from the comfort of your home. You need not spend years studying until you finally see some profits. Sound business concepts exist online that have proven to produce income over and over and they are taught by some of the most successful people in the world. Online entrepreneurs that started just like you. Wondering what the best concept is that ensures your success? Look no further because it is niche marketing, or better yet, choosing the right niche market.

But you’re probably wondering what is niche marketing? Niche marketing is simply finding a selection of people with similar interests and presenting them with solutions to the questions they have about these interests. They could be problems, they could be needs or they may be desires, but each group should be actively looking for solutions to be a formidable market for you. This group should be very passionate about their interest or topic. Let’s use the example of a pack of dogs that have run a sled race and you just happen to have a trough of water. No doubt you have what they want and need. This is essentially how niche marketing works.

You may be asking why niche marketing? Niche marketing is best because you can realistically make an extra $500 to $12000 per month. Niche marketing allows you to focus more precisely on terms and keywords that aren’t as competitive so you won’t be competing against corporations with million dollar budgets. Those companies need to bring millions per month to cover their gargantuan advertising costs. They won’t concentrate on niche markets which leaves the door open for you.

Finding potential customers for niche marketing is simple. I’ll give you some examples of niche markets:

- Sports

- Car Enthusiasts

- Golfers

- English Bulldog Owners

- Roofers

- Small Business Owners

You get the idea here.

Now, before deciding which niche you want to pursue with your home-based business, there are four essential questions you need to ask yourself:

1. Is this an easily definable market and are they reachable? In other words, are there magazines and newsletters devoted to this group? Are there certain locations where they gather? Does this market have clubs or organizations they would be a part of?

2. Is this group large enough for you to make decent profits, but also small enough that there won’t be loads of competition?

3. Does this niche have money to spend? A great example here would be golfers. They are constantly looking for new ideas, equipment and strategies to improve their game AND they are ready, willing and able to pay for it.

4. Does this market possess an enormous passion for this interest they have? Are they obsessed with their hobby or the subject? Do they constantly seek out more information on what interest them? Beginning guitarists are a great example of this.

If you do some research and keep these questions in the back of your mind you’ll have no trouble with niche marketing for your online venture.

Follow these suggestions as you think about launching your home-based business and what area you want to target because you will be well in front of several other home business opportunity seekers that wish to begin a work-from-business.
